Best time to visit Curaçao: and why hurricane season isn't a worry

Curaçao has a tropical climate year-round, with temperatures around 27 to 32°C (80 to 90°F) and a cooling trade wind. So there's no bad time to come. But there are differences, and they'll help you choose.

Outside the hurricane belt

The biggest reassurance for anyone hesitating about a summer trip to the Caribbean: Curaçao lies south of the hurricane belt. While other islands brace for storms between June and November, Curaçao almost always stays clear. That's exactly why the island has become such a popular summer destination in recent years; Google Flights recently named Curaçao the fastest-growing trending destination for summer travel from the US.

The seasons in short

• December to April: high season. Dry, sunny and busy, with the highest prices for flights and stays. Book well in advance.
• May to September: warm and mostly dry, quieter and often better value. For many visitors the best balance of weather, price and crowds.
• October to December: the "rainy season", but think short, heavy showers, usually at night or in the morning, followed by sunshine. The island is at its greenest.

Flying to Curaçao
